    Background:

    Established in 1975 from a bequest from the estate of the late Dr Robert Logan, Senior Lecturer in Biochemistry at the University from 1968 to 1973, the income derived from the bequest maintains the awards.

    Eligibility for the Robert Logan Memorial Grant:

    • Applicants can be full-time or part-time Honours or Postgraduate research students in the Academy, studying in the field of Biochemistry.
    • Students must not be previous recipients of this grant.

    Selection Criteria:

    • Content of their written submission
    • The character of the applicant
    • Any other criteria that the Selection Committee deems appropriate, including whether the candidate has, or will receive any other scholarship assistance during their studies.

    Documents required:

    • A written statement (no more than 500 words) outlining the purpose and use of the funding. Include a statement naming your primary and secondary supervisor/s.
    • An itemized budget listing the expected expenditure for application. Including, but not exclusive to, all proposed travel expenses, conference costs, equipment purchase quotes, and other research-related expenses.
    • Curriculum vitae.
    • A copy of their academic record.

    Application Requirements:

    • A written statement detailing the funding's purpose and intended use. A statement naming your primary and secondary supervisor(s) should be included.
    • A detailed budget that breaks out the anticipated costs for each application. Including, but not limited to, all estimated travel costs, conference fees, equipment purchase estimates, and other costs associated with the research.

    • A copy of their academic record.
