SDS Canada: How to Apply for a Study Permit Under SDS Canada?
Students must use the online application system to apply for a study permit. As the process is done online, it doesn’t take much time to process the visa application.
The application is not the same for all the applicants as it varies for students coming from different countries. So, before you begin your application process, do not forget to check on the rules and regulations laid down by the consulate for the country you are applying from.
Students planning to apply for the visa under SDS must first create their accounts. This step minimizes the processing time, as the students with the help of this account, will be able to:
- Pay their fees
- Submit their application
- Check the status of their application
When you apply, make sure you:
- meet the eligibility criteria, as you don’t want to lose time later if you are not eligible
- carefully see the list of required documents and include them with the application.
The total cost to apply for a study permit under the SDS Canada programme is CAD $150.
It is important to understand that students must create a GIC before starting their application procedure as it is a mandatory requirement of the Canadian study permit process.
Students who are planning on applying for education loans must do it in time, like at least two months earlier. Do not try to delay the loan process unless you are going with We make scholars, as we all know the speed at which they process the education loan.
Though We make scholars can get you funding for an education loan in as less as 12 days, you should not take that risk and so apply early through We make scholars. Most government banks take close to a month to release the necessary funds. So speak to our financial officers at the earliest to get your education loan on time. Those who plan on applying for an education loan to study in Canada should do so at least 1.5 months before they are expected to apply for a study permit.
What To Do Once You Have Submitted Your Online Application?
Once students submit their online application for a study permit under the SDS programme, they will be required to submit their information like biometrics and photographs to the consulate/embassy by making an appointment.
The study permit will be processed by the embassy. If it is rejected due to any reason, respective applicants will be intimated of the same and they will have to apply again. Once approved, students would either be issued an eTA(electronic travel authorization) or a Canadian student visa, depending on their country of residence.
On reaching Canada, students need to keep their student visa/eTA and study permit documents handy. These will be asked by the immigration authorities to verify the incoming applicant's particulars. Once the procedure is completed, applicants are free to proceed to the destination of their higher studies in Canada.
Canada has some of the best universities in the world. However, the fee can be a little high. Also, you will need to create GIC before going through the process of a Visa. Banks may not agree on transferring the amount for GIC, but we at We make scholars will support you for the amount disbursal and talk on behalf of you to the lenders.
Do not delay much to begin your process of education loan as your wishes of studying at a Canadian University are waiting for you, do fulfill them with the help of an Education loan for Canada with the help of our team.
